34% of African Americans live in food deserts, compared to only eight percent of white residents.
This means that at least 1 in 3 people in Baltimore city residents may be in need and are unable to access food resources in their neighborhoods.
How do we fix this?
Creating more accessible options for getting food during difficult / emergency situations.
We’ve teamed up with the Station North Tool Library to build the pantries, and are working with various food pantries and community organizations to ensure that the pantries are placed in neighborhoods where they will meet the needs of the community.
