Emergency Assistance

Families Matter

The Families Matter program is dedicated to local gap families. The program provides a number of resources to families that are experiencing difficulties providing their families with food, hygiene items and other necessities as a result of an unexpected crisis. Emergency assistance is provided for one month in the form of non-financial resources like groceries, personal hygiene items, and household cleaning supplies as well as other items as available through donation. All families living in Baltimore city are eligible to apply for this assistance up to 1 time per year.

We respond to all applications within 2 business days. If you do not receive a response within two business days, please shoot us an email : info@partsofpeace.org

Why do we provide these items?

The Families Matter program provides household necessities and support systems to families in the Greater Baltimore area. These necessities and support systems are provided to allow families to focus on what's important to them, rather than their temporary financial burdens. The program uses a 3-step process:

Alleviate financial burdens by providing necessities that reduce household costs.

Educate families about financial management, credit building/repair, and introduce families to existing community support services.

Work alongside families through individualized case management, financial counseling, and peer support. *Tutoring and mentoring opportunities are available for youth.

Please use the button below to apply to the Families Matter - Emergency Assistance program. Please allow 1-2 days for processing your application. After your application is processed you will be contacted with a result. Families with accepted applications will be able to receive support 1-2 business days after approval.

*Please note that Parts of Peace has limited funding and is unable to provide support to all applicants that request assistance. Families that are denied will be provided with other relevant and appropriate resources.
